MORE than 2500 people took the opportunity to see a wide range of aircraft at Busselton Aero Club’s Aerofest.
Around 90 aircraft were on display at the Busselton Regional Airport. They ranged from a vintage DH Foxmoth to the most modern light aircraft and included some war birds.
Visitors were able to go aboard the Sea Rescue Dornier and FESA helicopter as well as wander among the parked aeroplanes.
Static exhibitions included the Old Machinery Club, a huge display of model aircraft, vintage cars, flight simulators and flight training lectures.
“I could not believe how successful this event has been,” Aero club chief flying instructor Will Owen said.
“Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the aviators had a chance to display their planes. It was certainly worth the months of preparation and hard work done by the club.”
The event raised $3500 for Busselton Marine Rescue cadets and Busselton scouts.
