Last year’s winner of the novice section, Connie Overton, is pictured here in her lovely garden. Connie will be entering one of her fine pelargonium specimens in this year’s show but now, no longer a novice, she’s expecting the competition to be tough. “I’ll be up against the big guns this year,” she said. “But it’s not really about winning – it’s more about having fun.”

The flower and garden show is on this Friday and Saturday and members of the public are welcome to attend. It’s being held at the St Mary’s Family Centre on the corner of Queen Street and Albert Street, Busselton. The show runs from 1-5pm on Friday and 9am-3.30pm on Saturday. Admission is $2 for adults and free for children. Light refreshments will be available.
