“I lost my Mum to cancer in October, 2008, so I am participating in World’s Greatest Shave in memory of her and to do what I can to help others fighting their own battle,” Sam said.

This will be the last two weeks for Sam and her flaming red locks and she said that she wanted to ‘have a bit of fun while she still has it’ – hence the crazy hair day at Mitchell Park from 10am-2pm on Saturday.

All the equipment was donated by her employer (Geographe Panel and Paint) and Sam will be assisted by a team of volunteers (her friends). She said that it would be a fun day for both kids and adults.

“We have stencils and can do a variety of different shapes and colours, and even put glitter in your hair.

“If you don’t want to colour your hair then come and support me by buying a sausage sizzle.

“All the money raised on the day will go towards my World’s Greatest Shave campaign.”

Sam set up donation tins at her workplace, Geographe Panel & Paint, and encourages the public to call in, say ‘hi’ and sponsor her.
