DESPITE assistance from the Shire of Busselton and a regional advertising campaign, Activ Business Services is still struggling to find enough work to keep the business open in Busselton.
“In recent weeks, Activ has again undertaken a concerted sales effort and advertising campaign to seek new business,” Activ’s CEO Tony Vis said.
“In his most recent visit our sales representative, Stephen Cunningham, called upon more than 30 Busselton businesses.
“I and other senior Activ managers have also met with the Busselton Shire Council, the Busselton Chamber of Commerce and other local business people.
“A large number of businesses and individuals in the community have provided words of support and encouragement in the hope that Activ Business Services Busselton will stay open and I thank them for that.
“The good news is that the Busselton Shire Council has committed to provide additional community-based horticultural work to Activ which will now enable two Activ property care crews to continue to work in Busselton. We are grateful for the shire’s excellent support and commitment.
“Unfortunately, besides the shire’s work and a small amount of packaging work, we have not had significant new sustainable business come our way.
“As of now, we are still looking for more work, particularly in the areas of packaging, collating and administration.
“More work of this nature will help us to provide our employees with meaningful jobs in Busselton as it will fit the skill set of our employees who currently do not have enough to do.
“If you consider you may have suitable work for Activ, please phone Stephen Cunningham on 0427 999 183.”
