AFTER months of collecting books generously donated from all corners of the community, the book fair will be held this Saturday at Mitchell Park.
Danita Bartlett and her team of about 20 volunteers will begin setting up the 20,000 books from the early hours. They plan to be up and running from 7.30am.
The books will be organised in alphabetical order and set up in a series of stalls. Purchase of all books will be by gold coin donation.
Most of the proceeds will go to Princess Margaret Hospital’s ‘Play Zone’ with a portion being donated to a local family with a child suffering cerebral palsy.
The funding will assist them to get the special botox treatment they require.
The selection of books will include cookbooks, comics, children’s books, self-help, new and old novels, older volumes and everything that comes printed on a page.
Danita can still do with some additional volunteers on the day. If you are available to help, please contact her on 0418 934 389.
