Speed a likely factor in car crash on Caves Road

18 Nov, 2009 12:20 PM
POLICE have yet to decide whether charges are to be laid against the driver of a Holden Commodore which crashed into a tree on Caves Road Dunsborough at around 6.45am last Thursday morning.

The 20-year-old Dunsborough man is in Royal Perth Hospital with serious leg injuries after he was cut from the mangled vehicle.

The Mail believes he has had several plates inserted into his legs.

Sergeant Craig Anderson, from the Dunsborough Police Station, advised that police were yet to question the driver extensively because he was still recovering from the accident.

“It was a single vehicle accident and the driver is lucky to be alive,” said Sgt Anderson. “Investigations are still underway, but we do believe that speed was a factor in the accident.”
