GEOGRAPHE Bay Seasiders Football Club will make the step up to the men’s Premier League this season, under the guidance of new coach Ryan ‘Rocky’ Turner.
Rocky, who was previously with Busselton Soccer Club, was stoked to be the club’s inaugural Premier League coach.
“I am delighted to be joining such an ambitious club like Geographe Bay,” he said.
“Their facilities are first rate and they have welcomed me with open arms.
“This will be our first year in the Premier League and I am looking forward to the challenge.”
Club spokesperson Mike Ryan said the Seasiders, who will field teams in both the Premier League and reserves division of the South West Soccer Association (SWSA) this season, were also delighted to have Rocky on board.
“We are rapt that Rocky has taken on the coaching role.
“He has an excellent pedigree and is a good footballer as well.
“The club would like to thank previous head coach John Sullivan for his efforts,” he said.
Mike said the club had grown enormously in the two years it had been in operation.
“Our hard work has already paid off after we were voted as having the best facilities in the SWSA two years running.”
He said a second pitch has been approved for use by the city at the hockey club.
“The Geo Bay ladies will once again play in the women’s reserves league and we are hopeful of as good a showing as last season, if not better.”
The club is holding a muster on Saturday, February 11 around 4pm.
The venue has yet to be confirmed, but current and new players are welcome.
There will be a light session and a barbecue afterwards.
