Junior T-ball season gets underway

28 Oct, 2009 10:24 AM
T-BALL juniors got underway with many new faces again this week.

All children and parents have settled into their games. These very young T-ballers are learning how to throw and catch a ball with emphasis on the skill and the fun side of T-ball. Their efforts in batting are sensational to watch as the concentration is full on.

There were some very close games in the junior division as Harcourts Hard Hitters narrowly defeated Chooks Fresh n Tasty by one run. With many home runs and wonderfully placed balls into the outfield, both teams were on fire. Best players for Harcourts were Kaleb Eades and Danika Wallam-Mack, with Mitchell Perham and Maddison White for Chooks Fresh n Tasty.

Four Seasons Slammers defeated Cape Catchers in a game where the scores didn’t really reflect the intensity of the game. Four Seasons Slammers had great batting for three home runs with runners on the bases; which set up the game for them. There were excellent plays at first base by both teams and generally the game was played tightly in the infield.

Second base and short stops of both teams came into play with brilliant play. Best for Four Seasons Slammers were Chenaye Wright and Jackson Gillett and Shannon Cochrane and Declan Marcinkowski for Cape Catchers.

The senior competition hotted up with super squad players Adam Fraser and Josh Hewett leading their teams Harvey Homers and Juice Print Sprinters respectively. This game saw many home runs with brilliant outfield placement of balls sending the outfielders way out into the next diamonds.

With some new players on the diamond this week, they were treated to some fabulous play by both sides.

Juice Print Sprinters overtook Harvey Homers in the last few digs to seal the game. Best players for Juice Print Sprinters were Bryce Faed and Aiden Metcalf Diener with Tyler Perham and Sarah Toovey showing their skills for Harvey Homers.

Busselton Toyota Titans sealed victory over Fitzone Flyers in a thrilling game where players of both sides rose to the occasion. Coaches were pleased with the efforts of new players into the ranks for both sides. Well-placed outfield hits secured the extra runs for Busselton Toyota Titans.

Infield plays at first and second base were excellent with close calls at home plate. Best players for Busselton Toyota Titans were Mitch Partridge and Adam Pillage with Campbell Ace and Kade Jenkins for Fitzone Flyers.
