10 Mar, 2010 12:58 PM
A CAPACITY field of 240 teed off for the Harcourts Busselton Geographe Ladies Golf Classic on the weekend.

But there could only be one winner of the event and that was Belinda Wilkinson from Wagin Golf Club, who also took home the trophy in 2005.

She scored a gross of 151, which was two shots better than Rhianna Davies and enough to land her the Nintendo Wii prize package.

Another Wagin golfer, Alison Eather, was a further two shots back in third place, while Jacqueline Scott was the nett trophy winner with a score of 139.

Second was Glenys Ferguson (143) and third Gail Flatman (146).

Busselton Golf Club’s best placed players were Mavis and Anne Gray, with 149 and 151 nett respectively.

Mavis also won a prize for having the third best nett score (71) in round one (Saturday) and Jodie Espinos went one better on Sunday with a nett score of 70.

Other Busselton golfers to do well were Colleen Ryan, Di Coote, Helen Criddle, Marion Fraser, Meg Herbert, Margaret Hogan, Hazel Meiklejohn, Jan Mountney and Di Sanderson (all less than 160 nett).
