Southern Capes Motorcyle Club revs up for new season

03 Mar, 2010 11:56 AM
MOTOCROSS bikes roared into action on Saturday as 82 riders took part in the Go Moto Come ‘N’ Try Day at the Jindong track.

The pits were buzzing from 10am as everyone anticipated a ride in their class.

Southern Capes Motorcycle Club president Michael MacDonald was delighted with the turn-out and said there were at least a dozen more young people compared to last time.

“This is a great opportunity for new riders to have a go on a well-prepared local track,” he said.

“Our recently installed sprinklers ensured conditions were not as dusty as last year, and we received positive feedback from riders.”

Michael said that the club was looking forward to an exciting 2010, with several club and state events.

“The most important event for us will be when we host the Quad Nationals in October,” he said.

“People from all over Australia will come to Busselton for this event, which will be a huge boost to the community.”

Michael said that the club was actively seeking an exclusive naming-rights sponsor.

“This means a business name could be attached to Southern Capes Motorcycle Club news and advertising throughout the year,” he said.

The interclub competition starts at Collie on March 22, with the next Jindong meet on April 5.
