Strong showing for squash club

30 Sep, 2009 10:20 AM
THE Busselton Squash Club put in a strong showing at the annual Country Teams Championships held in Perth on the long weekend.

Five teams competed including three men’s and two women’s teams, as well as three players helping to make up a team for Margaret River, with the men’s A-grade team returning victorious.

The men’s A-grade team, consisting of Sean Brockman, Colin Harris, Daniel Taylor and Wayne Evans, beat Alexander Club, Bunbury, four matches to nil to win the grand final. The women’s A-grade team also made the final but Rose Buswell, Polly Paine, Pam Hurst and Jan Radisich went down 4-0 to Alexander.

Busselton Squash Club is looking for new players. Open division pennants are played on Monday nights and juniors can play on Friday afternoons. There is also a new social competition starting on Thursday nights. Call Rose for bookings on 97 52 2 455, or Sean, the club president, on 0419 969 823 if you want to join.
