ONE of the South West’s most successful martial arts clubs is expanding its classes to include Busselton, with the aim to train a future Australian champion from the region.
Taekwondo Central is no stranger when it comes to training martial arts champions, having produced 218 WA State champions, 100 Australian champions and 10 international champions to date.
Master Justin Warren, who will be one of the new local trainers, said Taekwondo Central wanted to give some of the amazing talent coming through from Busselton a better chance to succeed in the sport.
An examples is Geordie Pride who double-graded (passed two belts in one grading) at the final 2011 grading.
“We want to give students like Geordie a proper chance to find out how good they can really be at Taekwondo,” Justin said.
Classes will be held by three highly-qualified instructors – Justin Warren (5th Dan Black Belt Taekwondo, 1st Dan Black Belt Kawaishi Judo and 1st Dan Black Belt Jishin Jujitsu), Jasmine Klumpp (3rd Dan Black Belt and 2011 Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships gold medal winner) and Ajana Plunkett (3rd Poom Jnr Black Belt – Former World Taekwondo Expo Champion).
Taekwondo Central classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 4.45pm, while New Little Dragons (4-8yrs) will be on Tuesday at 4pm and Super Dragons on Thursday starting at 4pm.
All classes will run from the Busselton Youth and Community Centre. For more details see www.tkdcentral.com
