Let’s take it one step further

Let’s take it one step further

17 Dec, 2009 09:38 AM
I HAVE read with great interest Barry House’s recommendation on supporting the local wine industry.

I have to say that I do agree with him on this issue but would like to see it pushed a little further.

I believe that we, as a community, should be supporting all local business, if we wish to survive and be able to offer our children and their children employment in the future.

Many businesses miss out on income because people shop on the internet or out of town, the small picture is to save a couple of dollars, the big picture is that if local business doesn’t get its share of the cake then they will inevitably close down and that means less employment prospects for our future generations.

I say to everyone out there, shop locally whenever possible, the internet and out of town retailers will not give you the service that your local retailer will give. Let’s all get together and support our beautiful town and see it grow into the future.

Great article. We have already taken action in taking this one step further. Im working on a campaign atm called "Summer with the Locals" which is all about drinking and enjoying WA wines. Its a terrific campaign and its great to see the locals getting behind it! For more information please visit: http://twitter.com/enjoyWAwine http://www.facebook.com/enjoyWAwi ne
