IT was a disappointing Sunday home game for the Seasiders, succumbing to a 5-0 loss at the hands of an in-form Hay Park, looking for a win to place them in good contention for the league title.
The Seasiders didn’t have a good start when key defender Sarah Kelly went down early with a calf injury.
Although the Seasiders looked as if they were going to score early they couldn’t convert and credit must go to Hay Park’s experienced goalkeeper who stopped everything which came her way.
With some good midfield play the visitors eventually found their key striker who broke through the Seasiders defence and scored a couple of quick goals before half-time.
The Seasiders are not a team to give up and continued to fight on in the second half, again with some excellent chances but the ball frustratingly was going just wide of the net.
It has to be said that a great effort was put in by Geographe’s young goalkeeper Sarah Hollett who made some great saves, including an excellent penalty save, however the visitors continued their pressure and managed to secure another three goals by fulltime.
The Seasiders have a bye on Sunday before they travel away to Australind for their final fixture of the season.
Busselton Toyota players-of-the-day were Jenny Sandor, Chloe Marlow and Jesse Avery.
