CROWDS gathered from far and wide to attend the 2013 Harvey Dickson’s Rodeo in Boyup Brook at the weekend.
Many of the visitors, from Bunbury, Perth and further afield as well as around the south west, were regulars who attend the show every year.
Most of the crowd settled in around the arena to watch the thrills and spills of rodeo contests for the day – and there were plenty to be had, especially in the narrow escapes of bull-riders from pounding hooves when they hit the dust.
Cowboys and cowgirls travelled from around WA to compete in the event, with an impressive number of cowgirls showing the audience how to get the task done.
On display in the grounds were motorbikes and classic cars for enthusiasts to get a close look at.
Market stalls sold all the gear that was popular amongst visitors, including cowboy hats and boots.
Bands Blue Hornet and China Doll along with Jodie, Boni and Chad Woods entertained the crowds on the Saturday, while Paul Jane and Shane Dickson played at the Rodeo Shindig on Friday night.
While the sky was overcast, the weather stayed fine, making for another hugely successful weekend in Boyup Brook.
