THE Busselton Open Junior Tournament will be played over four days this weekend with the first of 290 matches to begin on Saturday at 8am.
This Tennis Australia event will see entrants in 18 of the 22 events competing for ranking points.
Twenty four of the entrants are amongst the highly ranked and potential future home grown champions.
Age groupings include 10s, 12s, 14s and 16 years olds and under.
There will be eight local juniors amongst the field of 134 starters who are mostly metropolitan based players.
Busselton’s Henry Vines will compete in the 10’s singles and doubles and will be aiming to go one better after being Runner-up in the singles last year.
Gracie Miller, a doubles semi-finalist last year will play in the under 16 singles and doubles.
Mitchell Fraser will play in the 14’s and sister Chloe is entered in the 10 and under girls singles and the 12’s doubles.
Other local players entered include Patrick Doyle, Joseph Young, Kai Keegan, Mathew James and Lincoln Gray.
Visitors are welcome down to the Club over the weekend where they are sure to see some entertaining tennis from our up and coming champs of the future.
Play starts at 8am each day with finals to be played on Tuesday.
