POLICE are warning South West motorists that double demerits start from mid night on Thursday and run through to midnight on Monday.
Sergeant Todd Carrington said during that time police would be targeting speeding, driver inattention, seatbelts, alcohol and fatigue.
“Easter long weekend is a very busy time for police and we have ramped up our campaign with extra staff,” he said.
“This weekend is one of the biggest road safety campaigns we run each year apart from Christmas and we’re obviously very keen to have zero fatalities in the South West and the state in general.”
A 34-YEAR-OLD Busselton woman was charged with allegedly causing a vehicle to be driven against a compliance notice and removing a compliance notice when police stopped the woman at 9.40pm on April 11.
PARADISE Motor Inn on Pries Avenue in Busselton was targeted on April 12 when three mobile phones and a ladies handbag were stolen from an unlocked room.
The theft occurred between 2 and 7.50am whilst the occupant of the room was sleeping.
A 27-YEAR-OLD was charged with allegedly having a blood alcohol reading of excess 0.08 when police conducted a vehicle stop on Bussell Highway in Broadwater at 4.38am on April 12.
DAMAGE was caused to a vehicle that was parked on Jabiru Place in Geographe when a brick was thrown through the rear window of a hatchback sometime between midnight on April 11 and 7.20am on April 12.
ANOTHER vehicle had its rear windscreen smashed in Geographe when a brick was thrown through it. The vehicle was parked on Mainsail Street when the damage occurred between 10pm on April 12 and 8.15am on April 13.
A MEN’s red Giant brand bicycle was stolen from a Monoghans Way address in Abbey between 1 and 8am on April 11.
A NEIGHBOUR of a High Street property in Busselton witnessed a male leaving the premises carrying several pillow cases full of items. The incident occurred at 10.50pm on April 10 and the offender was wearing a motorbike helmet.
AROUND $200 of damage was done to a roof of a Twine Court property in Geographe on April 10 after police received reports of rocks and concrete being thrown at 10pm.
PRESCRIPTION sunglasses, a phone charger and earphones were stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Fairbairn Road in Busselton with a window wound down. The incident occurred between 4 and 4.30pm on April 9.
