IF you were looking for something arty this Easter long weekend then The Studio Gallery may have just what you’re looking for.
The official opening of Robin Rankin’s solo exhibition will be held at the Yallingup gallery at 6pm on Saturday.
Ceramic art by Fleur Schell and Cj Jilek will also be on display and available to purchase.
Rankin’s works encapsulate figurative interpretations of childhood and aims to transport the audience into a reminiscent state of mind as the figures reflect cut-out paper dolls.
“My work explores the theme of memory making and sharing,” Rankin said.
“I capture a moment and want it to resonate with familiarity. I want the imagery to prod the corners of our memories, old and new. These reflections are a universal and time honoured pattern.”
The Studio Gallery’s director Sue Smith said they had already sold five of Rankin’s works before the exhibition had even opened.
“It’s just great,” she said.
Canapés by head chef Malcolm Chow and wines by Carpe Diem Vineyards will also be available.
