WITH no beach patrols taking place over the Easter weekend, recently launched iKoast app will be a handy tool for beach goers.
Surf Life Saving WA said there would still be regular helicopter patrols over the South West.
This is where mobile phones could come in handy for regular updates on weather conditions, shark sightings, beach closures and rips.
The iKoast app will be available to provide all the information you need for safe swimming.
The app was launched in March and is Australia’s first community-based lifestyle app that maps activities and facilities on the WA coast.
Users can also be notified of beach closures, rips, shark sightings, weather conditions or marine life appearances.
The free app is available to download on Apple devices.
