IN what has been described by organisers as "perfect conditions" the National Balloon Championships fired up for the first day of competition in Canowindra on Tuesday.
With ideal weather forecast for the remainder of the week, spectators are encouraged to follow the balloons as they make their journey to various targets around the region.
Pending weather conditions, the balloons will launch every morning and afternoon from the Canowindra Sportsground.
