WITH April 25 being one of Australia’s most patriotic days, the Busselton RSL is calling on young veterans.
Each year the march is led by veterans and on Friday there will be a focus on post Vietnam War soldiers.
Busselton RSL member Grant Henley said it was a great way for people to remember that Australia had been involved in significant wars since Vietnam.
Leading the march on Friday at 8.45am will be Veterans Kylie Cruikshank, Melanie Sorokine, Greg Evans along with Mr Henley.
Ms Cruikshank and Ms Sorokine both served in Iraq in 2003 and 2004 for HMAS Kanimbla and Catalyst.
Mr Evans was in the first battalion in Somalia in 1993 and Mr Henley served in the Solomon Islands.
However, Mr Henley wants more people to come forward and be a part of the march.
He said there was a real transitional shift in the RSL to the younger veterans.
“Not many of the veterans want to be a part of the RSL when they first get back and that is fine but we want them to feel included on ANZAC day,” Mr Henley said.
“Even if you are visiting the area and want to partake in the march that is great.”
There will be a dawn service at the Busselton Memorial Park from 5.45am.
People interested in being involved in the parade can meet at Signal Park at 8.45am for a 9am start.
There will also be a parade in Dunsborough 10.45 and the service at 11am.
