Two elderly women visiting Perth had a gun pointed at them in Cockburn Central on Wednesday afternoon after a man told them to hand over their handbags.
The two women, 63 and 64 years old, were walking along Linkage Avenue at 6.05pm when a man approached them, demanding their handbags, said police spokeswoman Susan Usher.
When they refused, he pulled out a small gun and pointed it at them, pulling the trigger, which made a clicking noise.
The man fled when the two women screamed, possibly leaving in a small black hatchback parked nearby.
He is described as being in his late 20s with very dark skin, wearing a hooded top, shorts and a cap.
