MORE than 500 runners from across WA and Australia were in Busselton over the weekend for the inaugural Wings for Life World Run.
No one knew what to expect from the race with many people coming back exceeding their expectations.
The runners started at 6pm from Barnard Park and travelled along Geographe Bay Road, Bussell Highway and Caves Road towards Margaret River.
Competitors were saying it was one of the best runs they had ever done and were already looking forward to next year.
They said residents came out of their houses to cheer them along the street, providing a great atmosphere for the event.
