THE Busselton Lions have celebrated the opening of the group’s new shed on Queen Elizabeth Avenue.
Lions member John Clark said the $22,000 project was only made possible with the help of generous contributions, worth some $6500, from the local community and businesses.
Many of those people were at the opening celebrations, where they were officially thanked.
The shed is used to store donated items which are sold by the Lions to fund a range of projects that the group supports. These include the Busselton Hospice, oncology and cancer research and hospitals.
“The new shed is big enough to house all the furniture and other items – so we don’t have to carry stuff outside then bring it back in again when we have our garage sales,” John said.
Opening hours are 8-10am each Tuesday and Saturday, and once a month 8am-1pm.
The Lions will pick up donations and make deliveries.
