AN anti-chlorination rally attracted around 250 people, who staged a protest march down Busselton’s main thoroughfare, Queen Street on Sunday morning.
Participants expressed their opposition to Busselton Water chlorinating its supply and asked people to sign a new petition after the current one was found to have the wrong wording.
Police escorted the crowd down Queen Street and rangers and police blocked side streets as the rally approached.
Controversy has raged since Busselton Water decided to chlorinate its water for health reasons.
The situation was exacerbated by the quality of the water that came out of taps because of the chlorination, which sparked a claim by Vasse MLA Troy Buswell that Busselton Water had done a very poor job in communicating the benefits and necessity of chlorination to its customers.
Busselton Water said the flushing process was winding down and clear water conditions would return to remaining affected area in the near future.
