ON a day which could have been the turning point in Geographe’s season, the bare 11 players turned up and put in a magnificent performance, smashing in seven goals against a tricky Dalyellup side in Bunbury.
After last week’s disappointing loss to league leaders Hay Park, some real character was required to bounce back in such a convincing manner, especially with the team fronting without the luxury of any subs on the day.
From the kick off, Geographe took the game to the hosts and had six corners in the first few minutes.
One of these resulted in the first goal from Laurel Elliott, who slotted away calmly beyond the goalkeeper.
By halftime the score had risen to six with some great goals from Dana Avery, Katrina Breen and Bonny Berridge to round off a pretty emphatic first half.
Dalyellup obviously had a stern halftime team talk and certainly gave a more spirited performance in the second half, with the home team scoring two compared to Geographe’s last by Dana Avery.
Overall, it was a great performance by the 11 who turned up on the day and a fine team performance to get the season back on track.
Meanwhile, the men’s Premier League team were unlucky in losing 1-0 to second-placed Bunbury United.
