Cities do battle in local Football Netball League

BUSSELTON met Bunbury in all grades in the latest of the Football Netball League on Saturday afternoon at the Geographe Leisure Centre.

The reserves were the first to play, with the usual young team taking the court with support from senior player Chon Milner.

The game started with many turnovers, and the quarter time score was 7-6 Busselton’s way.

The second quarter was dominated by Busselton, scoring 13 points to two, giving them a 12 point lead at halftime.

Bunbury came out fighting in the third quarter, reducing the margin by three.

The last quarter was hard fought, with eight goals each scored and Busselton ultimately winning 36-27.

The league game also started slowly with a few turnovers before the first goal was scored.

Bunbury then gained the advantage with accurate shooting to lead 13-6 at quarter time.

In the second quarter, Busselton played better netball but still could not make headway on the scoreboard.

Bunbury’s shooters continued their accuracy and took advantage of any turnovers, to lead by 17 at three quarter time.

None of the changes made at the quarter breaks worked to the advantage of Busselton with Bunbury winning a good spirited game 50-30.
