RIVER Boys madness descended on Busselton last week, when the man behind Home and Away’s Heath Braxton came to town.
Australia’s favourite ‘boy from the bay’ made a guest appearance at the Esplanade Hotel in Busselton on Saturday night, meeting VIP fans in a private party in the Esplanade’s Gold Bar cocktail lounge.
According to event organisers at the Esplanade Hotel, around 150 fans attended the VIP event, with many more coming for the chance to party afterwards with the Home and Away star on the dance floor.
“We sold out the VIP tickets, because he is such a high profile Australian actor,” the Esplanade Hotel’s entertainment marketing and promotions manager, DJ Insaine Dwaine, said.
“Dan was very impressed with the Esplanade as a venue, and thoroughly enjoyed himself.
“He is planning a return appearance as we speak, and plans to spread the word to other actors on the set of Home and Away.
“Next time he hopes to appear at a winery, the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, and again at the Esplanade Hotel.”
Dan Ewing plays the regular role of Heath Braxton in Home and Away, a character who is renowned for having a wild streak.
Dan, however, was on his best behaviour on Saturday night, making friendly conversation with the many fans who came to see him.
At one point in the night, upon learning it was one patron’s birthday, Dan boldly stole the microphone from MC Donald Pitts to sing Happy Birthday to his fan, Jenny Wallam.
After a great night on the weekend, the Esplanade hopes to continue bringing touring acts and personalities to party with the people of Busselton, with a potential guest appearance on the cards from another of the River Boys.
The Esplanade boasts the title of Busselton’s Entertainment Empire, combining live music, DJ sets, drink specials, plus many more attractions, and can now add the claim of bringing in major Australian celebrities.
