A LOCAL couple is off to the 2012 AFL grand final after winning a statewide competition.
Dunsborough residents Gary and Margaret Benington were one of just 10 winners of a promotion, which required customers to have a Toyota vehicle serviced at a rural Toyota dealership.
“We’re excited that a local customer won it,” Busselton Toyota service manager John Seymour said.
Their prize includes airfares, accommodation and tickets to both the grand final and West Coast Eagles grand final eve dinner.
Gary is a Geelong supporter, but is pessimistic about his team’s chances of being in the September decider – instead tipping an Eagles and Collingwood grand final.
He reluctantly donned an Eagles scarf when accepting his prize, but said he was excited about the trip.
“We’re really looking forward to it. We’re delighted to have won, especially in view of just having moved to the area,” Gary said.
“It’s a great welcome to the area,” Margaret added.
