Two matches for Vasse Ravens

VASSE Ravens played against Margaret River Breakers in a catch-up game last Tuesday night.

It was a turnaround from their previous encounter the week prior when they just managed to secure a winning goal in the last 10 minutes, however this time they were determined to make amends.

It was full power from the beginning to end, which had spectators enthralled. There were many chances of scoring but each time the ball just went slightly wide.

Every player played their part in the victory with the final result a convincing 3-0 win. Elisha Saltarini scored twice and Paris Fields celebrated her first goal for the season.

After only three days rest the Ravens were back on the pitch with an encounter against another Margaret River team; the Jedis. The Jedis are one of the strongest in the league; second to the Ravens and it was always going to be a tough contest between the sides.

The Jedis were in form and scored in the 20th minute, however the Ravens bounced back and a few minutes later they had their breakthrough with a smashing kick from midfielder Bonny Berridge to the forward line which Brooke O’Connor pounced on to score the equaliser.

The second half was a very fast-paced affair and the Ravens came out firing. A great pass by Sarah Hollett to O’Connor and then to Elisha Saltarini saw the Ravens back in the lead, however the Jedis continued on strongly and managed to level the score at 2-2.

The Ravens continued to work hard and were unfortunate not to score again. A great game was played by both sides.

Busselton Sports Power awards went to Ebony Brown and Holly Powley and Tuesday night’s game to Brooke Fields.
