Police are calling for witnesses to a crash that killed Busselton woman Elizabeth Halden, 66, yesterday.
She and her husband owned the Halden bus company during the 1990s.
The company ran the Chapman-Ambergate and Acton Park school buses before they sold the company to Ray Gannaway in 1997.
Ray said Elizabeth was well known from driving the local school bus routes.
“She was just a bright and energetic person.
“She went to England with her husband after they sold the buses, and then moved near Serpentine before moving back to Busselton.
“It’s very sad, she was a good person.”
The crash occurred on the Kwinana Freeway, about 2.6km south of Lakes Road in Nambeelup at 6.45am.
Major crash investigators said the crash involved a burgundy Mazda Tribute 4WD wagon which was travelling north along the freeway when it crossed onto the centre median strip, before rolling over and coming to rest on the south bound lanes.
The Mrs Halden suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.
Police are calling for people who were travelling on the Kwinana Freeway at the time and who may have seen the car either before or during the crash.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
