A BUNBURY man who stabbed and killed another man with a broken golf club in 2013 has been sentenced to eight years and three months in jail.
Police were called to a disturbance at a home in Whitley Street in Withers about 10.45pm on January 25, 2013.
When police arrived they found 23-year-old Bunbury man Quentin Cornwall with serious injuries as a result of being stabbed in the back five times with a broken golf club.
He was taken to Bunbury Regional Hospital where he died a short time later.
In court, Christoper James Marshall claimed he had used excessive force while defending himself during an out of control party at a block of flats in Withers.
Marshall will be eligible for parole after serving six years and three months behind bars.
