THE two Coasters under-10 junior netball teams, Blue and White, went head-to-head on Saturday and provided spectators with a friendly, yet competitive game to watch.
Coasters White unfortunately started the game one player short however, they were able to source one of the Netta girls, Isla Dehring, who joined the game at quarter time with great enthusiasm.
Coasters Blue led 5-3 at halftime and had Jenna Begley fighting hard in defence with Hannah Nichols for White only managing to get three goals past her.
Coasters White managed to put a few more scores on the board in the second half with goal attack Ava Clark taking advantage of every opportunity and scoring five goals and she was ably assisted by goal-shooter Bridget Pethick.
Coasters Blue didn’t miss a trick however, with Jenna as goal attack in the second half scoring a whopping 12 goals.
Other players to note included Cocoa Morris at wing attack who covered a lot of ground throughout the match and Sofia Watt who played a number of strong, strategic passes.
Jordan Sapsford as Centre was well paired with Jenna as Goal Attack and Eva Davies proved to be a major obstacle in defence for the Coasters White defence, Dakota Nelmes and Hannah Nichols.
All in all it was a well fought game between friends displaying great sportsmanship.
The players are all to be commended on the game which ended with Coasters Blue winning 17-10.
