A BUSSELTON woman will prove that she is much more than just a pretty face as she sets out to raise awareness for a charitable cause.
Jasmine Nielsen was chosen by the international Face of the Globe organisation to represent Australia at their grand finals in Europe for 2015.
Ms Nielsen’s charitable skills will be utilised as the international beauty pageant supports the Rainbow Child Foundation, a charity which helps underprivileged children around the world.
“I was completely overwhelmed and still can’t believe how fortunate I am to have this experience,” she said.
The organisation’s contestant advisor Hollie Galletly spoke extremely highly of Ms Neilsen who she said was charitable, warm and caring.
“Not only is she beautiful, but she is very inquisitive about life it seems, and very ambitious,” she said.
Leading up to the event contestants are required to create awareness for the foundation and another foundation of their choice.
Ms Neilsen chose Headspace; a national youth mental health foundation which supports people suffering with mental health illnesses.
“The reason I nominated Headspace is because mental illness is an issue very close to my heart,” she said.
She said she wanted to raise awareness of the great work Headspace does helping young people who were going through a rough time.
Ms Neilsen said she would organise fundraising events in the future but first she wanted to share the news with the community so they could follow her progression and support her through donations or sponsorship.
