THE stolen tractor that has been sitting at the Busselton Police Station for months and was set to be auctioned off has been claimed by its rightful owner.
The 1963 model tractor estimated to be worth around $3000 was stolen between 8am on June 6 and 8am on June 9 from a Jules Road property in Gelorup.
Police believe the owner was away at the time of the theft and once the owner returned they noticed their front gate open and the tractor missing.
“The tractor was stolen from the property and used to ram the gates of a neighbouring property,” Senior Sergeant Steve Principe said.
"The owners friend recognised the tractor and notified the owner."
The item has been pulled from the Rumens and Co Auction which will be held in Busselton on Saturday August 23.
