THEY’RE paranormal investigators who 'ain’t afraid of no ghosts'.
And Active Afterlife is 'who you’re gonna call' if you need a spirit investigated.
The dedicated group of paranormal investigators hail from the local area and have their sights set on some iconic landmarks in their search to prove the truth is out there.
Headed by executive producer Martin Burton and director Brandon Read, Active Afterlife are set to start their spirit hunt at the Ravenswood Hotel where they will shoot a pilot for what they hope will be the latest television show documenting unexplained phenomena.
“I’ve seen and heard and felt spirits since I was six,” Mr Burton said.
“We’re kind of ghost hunters, but I don’t like that word; we’re spirit identifiers.”
Mr Burton said the “richness of history” drew the team to start their investigations at the popular local hotel which he said had “several spirits”.
“We heard reports of spirit activity there which drew us in that direction,” he said.
“I was invited to walk around the place; it was a real eye opener.”
The Active Afterlife team will start their Ravenswood shoot on September 20 and will use high-tech audio recording and filming gear in the hope of capturing paranormal activity on camera.
Resulting footage will be spliced together to become the team’s pilot product they will shop around in a bid for further funding.
“The idea is to get the pilot set up and use it as a resume for broadcasting companies,” Mr Burton said.
“We’re going to need funding if we’re going to get further afield.”
Other local spots of interest to the team include Sutton Farm and Fairbridge Village, with Mr Burton saying the latter venue was “very active” spirit-wise.
“We think Australian viewers will find this interesting,” he said.
“We have about 45 spots to check out.
“We just need a company behind us.”
