CLAIRE is a young woman with an inviting smile, infectious giggle and a revitalized passion for life who and is well recognised in the Busselton community.
While Claire has been physically present in the community for many years she has lived a life dominated by time spent by herself.
After working at Busselton McDonald’s for more than 11 years as a reliable employee and with a small amount of support to live independently, Claire and her family have an exciting and inclusive future to look forward to.
With the help of the newly established country division of Cam Can and the National Disability Insurance Scheme My Way site, Claire has developed new skills which were previously untapped.
Cam Can coordinator Steve Robinson said after meeting Claire it was evident she had a passion for all things equestrian.
With this in mind Mr Robinson, Claire, her family and a small group of committed supporters investigated opportunities for her involvement in the equestrian industry.
Claire has now become a valued member of the Capel Horse and Pony Club, has commenced baking her own horse treats which are available for sale through a local Stockfeed supplier and is exploring further opportunities.
One idea is to develop a small equestrian business around supporting busy people to manage some of the day to day tasks of owning a horse.
Claire has also begun volunteering at St Vincent De Paul and would like to get involved in art opportunities.
Cam Can are currently looking for opportunities to partner with people with skills in IT and website design which will be used to market and sell Claire’s horse treats more broadly.
Mr Robinson said a partnership in the web design was important and Claire had many skills and qualities that she was willing to trade for this opportunity.
If you would like further information about this or other opportunities to partner with Cam Can please contact Steve on 0499 523 856.
