Courtney Callow is the first nominees for Festival Queen for the Festival of Busselton
The Festival of Busselton’s Queen Competition is a way for a young individual to raise funds for community projects while simultaneously having a great time and developing inter personal skills.
Miss Callow has been to the Festival of Busselton every year since she was born.
She loves everything about it, but mainly the community atmosphere it creates.
Miss Callow became involved with the Festival of Busselton so that she act as a role model to other girls and help to represent her hockey club.
“I’d love to be a role model for younger people and let them know it’s ok not to be perfect,” Miss Callow said,
“Just be the best you can be.”
Miss Callow plays hockey all weekend, every weekend and said the sport was her passion.
She is currently studying at Manea Senior College and loves biology.
“I love being outdoors and it gets me out there with all the animals, it’s really interesting,” Miss Callow said.
Miss Callow is one of the first nominees for the title with the Rotary Club of Busselton Geographe Bay encouraging more to participate.
The Busselton Rotary Club seeks to enlist an individual between 17-29 years of age who is interested in being a part of their growing local community.
The competition winner will receive a $1200 travel voucher as well as a number of other sought after prizes, plus the lucky individual will be able to work closely with a fantastic group of Rotary members.
