BUSSELTON'S Port Geographe Marina has been chosen as the newest location for the third race in the 2014/15 Telstra Triathlon Series.
The race will see over 1300 triathletes compete on Sunday, February 1 2015 in the race, which includes WA’s Olympic distance event.
The race has previously been hosted by the City of Mandurah, with the move to Busselton providing greater potential for the event to grow and allows regional WA to be included in the event.
“We are thrilled to have the City of Busselton on board,” TriEvents Managing Director Dave Budge said.
“The Port Geographe Marina is an exceptional location not only for spectators but also for racegoers of all ages and abilities,
“The Busselton community are long time supporters of triathlons and we hope to see them involved across all the events including the Enticer and Tadpoles.”
The three elements competitors will have to overcome are a flat bike course along Layman Road towards the Tuart Forrest, a run course through the marina area and the only marina swim course in WA.
The races that create the City of Busselton Triathlon are varied distances to suit children, new comers and professional athletes.
These include the Sunday Times Chillout! Tadpoles, the Enticer Triathlon and the State Championship Olympic Distance Triathlon.
