BUSSELTON police are providing the community with one last opportunity to reclaim their stolen bikes before they are donated to a worthy cause.
Almost 50 bikes and scooters are currently in police possession, with an average of two to three bikes handed in to police each week over the past six months.
Busselton Senior Constable Anthony Smith said sometimes stolen bikes were successfully reunited with their owners.
“Those that are not collected are donated to the Busselton Mates Mens Support Group who repair and rejuvenate the bikes before offering them up for sale,” he said.
“The proceeds are then used by the not-for-profit group to offer support and services to community members in need.”
Senior Constable Smith added that details such as type of bike, colour, size, distinguishing features and serial numbers were useful in returning bikes to their rightful owners.
If you have had your bike stolen contact Busselton police on 9754 9555.
