BRIGGS, one of Australia’s current powerhouses in the Hip Hop world is making his way to Dunsborough to showcase his new album ‘Sheplife’ featuring the hit tune ‘Bad Apples’.
His third studio album, Briggs promises that his new sound is more tempered than his prior work; it still has an aggressive power yet a level of thoughtfulness that fans will appreciate.
Briggs said his newest work was entirely inspired by his need for honesty and his environment growing up.
“There was too much going on not to speak about it,” Briggs said,
Recently awarded at the National indigenous Music Awards Best New Talent, Briggs said that it can only get better from here.
“It was great to be acknowledged for my contribution to rap music in Australia and also as a role model for my indigenous peers and youth,” he said.
In terms of feeling like he has made it in the Australian music industry, Briggs said it was entirely subjective to an individual’s own goals and aspirations, saying that if an artist sells out an arena like the Rolling Stones, it’s a pretty good universal indicator of musical success.
