DON'T let George pull the wool over your eyes. He might look like a dohne merino, but he's as clever as a kelpie and as bold as any border collie.
Every Dog has its Day is one of our favourite parts of Farmers' Weekly in The Courier.
We travel all over our readership area looking for smart sheepdogs. Or in the case of Trish, a pig who thought she was a dog.
When we were told about a sheep which acts like a dog out at the historic Narmbool property, though, we were a little sceptical.
But after meeting George, boy, we were left feeling sheepish.
George will come bounding over if you call his name and (with the possible exception of food pellets) likes nothing more than having his muzzle rubbed and having attention lavished upon him.
He's also worked out the odd trick or two, including how to get out of his paddock if the gate latch is not fully secured.
Apparently he learnt it after watching people.
Shear brilliance, so to speak.
