A LOCAL bed and breakfast have been awarded the number one hotel in Western Australia by hotel booking site trivago.
Busselton's Baudins B and B was awarded the top spot after trivago gathered ratings from over 175 booking sites.
Owners Linda and Greg Leuzzi are absolutely blown away by the win.
With no prior experience in the hotel industry they never expected to be awarded such an honour after only two years in the business.
"We are new to the tourism industry and have surprised ourselves how well we are doing in just two and a half years," Mr Leuzzi said.
From flexible check out times to home cooked breakfasts, Linda puts the win down to the relaxed experience they offer “when you’re a relaxed host it flows on to the guest”.
Busselton wasn’t the only winner in the awards with Yallingup taking out the number one holiday destination in Australia, followed closely by Denmark and Margaret River.
Windmills Break in Yallingup came in second place for best hotel followed by Busselton’s Inn the Tuarts meaning local residents are spoilt for choice when it comes to a luxurious quick escape.
Geographe Bay Tourism Association have put together the top 10 things to do in Yallingup, check them out here.
