A missing German tourist who spent the night without food or water in bush near Kununurra, 3214km northeast of Perth, has been found safe and well.
Police launched a search for the 22-year-old after he called police around 7.20pm on Friday, saying he had been walking in Packsaddle Springs, 30km from Kununurra, when he became lost.
Police drove to the area and put on their flashing lights. At one point the tourist told them he could see the lights over a hill but there were no tracks between him and the police vehicle.
Locals were asked to help but no path to the tourist's location could be found.
Police arranged for a helicopter to join the search on Saturday morning and the aircraft took off at first light with an SES volunteer on board as an observer.
The missing man was located a short time later.
