Students from Georgiana Molloy Anglican School have been rewarded for their generous spirit.
In an assembly on Friday, November 21 the school was visited by former governor of WA Malcolm McCusker with his wife Tonya and daughter Mary to highlight the actions of one family in particular.
As a part of the Kids Who Give WA campaign, a teacher from the school nominated Henry, Thomas and Oscar Brown for their fundraising efforts towards an orphanage in Vietnam, with the help of their parents Michael and Charlotte.
Mr McCusker addressed all students at the assembly, inviting them to answer his questions on community involvement.
“What do you get back when you give to people,” Mr McCusker said to the room.
”Happiness,” one student responded.
He then went on to say that the campaign had seem himself and his family visit more than 100 schools in the past year to commend the efforts of students doing great things and commended the school for their community mindedness.
“I think all children are born generous,” Mr McCusker said.
“You have three young champions with you today.”
The Brown boys were presented with a statue, a certificate and a $1000 cheque that they said they would be donating back to an orphanage.
“Thank you Henry, Thomas and Oscar for all you’ve done,” Mr McCusker said.
