A NEW coach for the Busselton colts will see the club go into 2015 with high hopes.
The colts will be led by Stephen Lester who comes to the football club with a huge amount of experience having been involved with Peel Thunder in the WAFL.
Lester one of Busselton’s under 17’s sides in 2014 and he will be assisted by Jock Embrey who is well known and respected in football circles around the South West.
Greg Hodson will continue to coach the Busselton Football Club after the selection committee announced next year’s line up last week.
Hodson was re-appointed on a one year deal with an option for a second and said he was very keen to continue the gains that had been made under his tenure.
The league side returned to finals action under Hodson in 2014.
Busselton Football Club president Rob Witton said the club had not only a coach looking to improve on field but Hodson was also very keen to assist the committee in improving the off field fortunes of the club.
“The selection committee has gone through a rigorous process to ensure the coaching structure for 2015 is one they believe can make the most of a promising squad,” Witton said.
“2014 was a successful year with all three grades playing finals and the new coaching structure will oversee this development into the future.”
The club also appointed two full time assistants in Nathan Bradbury and Trent Kelly to help Hodson. Bradbury has a vast playing history with the club and will continue to play league football and offer on field leadership.
Kelly guided the Dunsborough Mulies to the 2014 premiership and has a great outlook on football with valuable knowledge.
Chayce Creedy has been re-appointed as reserves coach and will look to improve his young and promising squad after a disappointing preliminary final loss.
He has also been appointed football director and will oversee all football operations within the club.
President Rob Witton said the club had succeeded in securing a good blend of experienced senior coaches while also enhancing the knowledge and enthusiasm of the next generation of coaches who will carry the club forward.
“Next year will be very exciting and we look forward to seeing the coaches putting their stamp on the Busselton FC,” Witton said.
