MORE than 700 punters were at Jindong Motocross Track on Saturday for the Day in the Dust festival.
The festival was melting pot of extreme sports and punk music.
There were some crazy whips and jumps by the freestyle motocross, bmx and minibike riders, and live music well into the night.
One of the biggest highlights would have been the Soggybones halfpipe skating.
With a custom built skate ramp that included a dropin from the roof of a minivan, all the skaters were stoked from dawn until midnight, entertaining the crowd with rad moves.
There was a fantastic turnout with plenty of local families coming down to enjoy the fun, and many people who made the road trip to Jindong from all corners of the state, and even interstate.
Ed Scissorhands was styling the punters with mohawks and mullets, Gabe Heussenstamm did some great live aerosol art and the Mexican Garage and Black Rat whipped up some smoke on the burnout pad much to the crowd's delight.
Without the hard work and dedication of a large number of volunteers, this event would not have happened.
Apart from a few fractures from the hardcore demonstrators the day was a dusty success and will return next year.
