THE South West Mountain Bike Club juniors will put their skills to the test on the big stage in March when they fly to Victoria to compete in the 2015 Subaru Australian Mountain Bike Championships.
A team of eight juniors will be sent over to represent the South West consisting of Jake Marshall, Cadel Adams and Rolly Kyme who will compete in the downhill event, and Mian Gimbeek, Joshua Geerling, Jordan Schmidt, Bryce Lannigan and Rilley Jenkinson who are set to participate in the Cross Country event.
Coach Graeme Adams said the team was looking forward to tackling the national championships.
“This is the biggest ever team we’ve sent over so it’s really exciting for us,” Adams said.
“We’ve done a lot of fundraising for this and it’s really good to be heading to the big stage.”
Coach Adams has also been running two-day Mountain Bike clinics for people looking to get involved.
The next clinic will be running this coming weekend with another being run on February 21 and 22.
The team will be competing in Bright from March 13 to 15.
