AN abusive start to life and near death experience last year hasn’t stopped Billy the kitten from enjoying walks along the beach in West Busselton.
Owner Lexie Bree Eastough rescued Billy when he was a kitten after his tail was broken in two places from being slammed in the door.
This has left Billy with a permanent kink in his tail.
Ms Eastough said he cat's love for the beach started when he developed Idiopathic Cystitis last year.
“He almost died but the beautiful people at Geo Vet Busselton fixed him up.
“Due to this disease he has to be on a special diet for the rest of his life and he has to lose weight.”
Billy lives with his owner opposite the beach in West Busselton and started following them for walks.
According to Ms Eastough Billy liked his walk so much they have made it a regular thing.
“He is very obedient and always comes when he's called so we don't need a kitty leash,” Ms Eastough said.
