Global online dating website eHarmony has entered the mainstream leasing market after securing a whole floor office in a boutique warehouse building at level 10, 387 George Street. The deal was negotiated by Ray White commercial office leasing director Anthony Harris on behalf of owner Peter Georges. Mr Harris said he is seeing strong demand from a plethora of website and technology companies all seeking unique creative space that they would otherwise find in Surry Hills but they now want to be in the hub of the Sydney CBD business community. The 387 George Street site, known as Georges House, is located opposite the Strand Arcade between King and Market streets. The building was previously occupied by Walt Disney.
Landmark feature sold
Architectural firm DKO has bought the historic Redfern Post Office, on the corner of Redfern and George Streets for $2.6 million and is set to transform the interior the 132-year-old two storey building into a mixed-use creative space, housing their own expanding team as well as a cafe and exhibition space. Spanning a total area of 340 square metres, the historical Victorian Italianate building is a landmark feature of the Redfern area and commands a prime corner in the heart of the rapidly gentrifying suburb.
